In less than 2-1/2 minutes, it can pop up to 18 cups of gourmet corn with virtually no unpopped kernels, and the process uses hot air instead of oil, resulting in a snack with 89% fewer calories than oil-popped corn. The clear plastic cover and cup, which must remain on during popping to prevent the popped corn from flying around the room, can be easily removed for hand cleaning with warm, soapy water, and no other cleanup is required. While a few unpopped kernels may spring out the chute as the machine heats up, the chute does a good job of directing the popped corn into a bowl.
